Welcome!
I am a collaborative pianist, church organist, and music educator located in the greater Hartford, CT area. I love collaborating with others musicians on instrumental or choral performances, projects, gigs, ensembles, or anything else requiring a pianist or organist. If you are interested in any of the above or in beginner piano / organ lessons, I would love to connect!
BIO
Organist and pianist Anna Pan has enjoyed varied experiences as music educator, chamber musician, and freelancer. She completed her piano studies at the Hartt Community Division studying with Margreet Francis from 2005-2018. During that time, she won numerous pre-college state competitions including the Musical Club of Hartford Competition and the Renee B. Fisher Competition. She has appeared as a soloist with the Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra and the Connecticut Youth Symphony.
In 2010, Anna began her foray into the pipe organ, studying with John Rose and Joseph Ripka and placing in the Albert Schweitzer Organ Festival and L. Cameron Johnson Memorial Organ Competition shortly thereafter. After a hiatus in formal organ study, Anna resumed studying in 2020 with Aaron Tan and began performing with her sister, concert organist Mary Pan, as an organ duo.
After a brief stint in northern California where she studied carillon under the tutelage of Jeff Davis at the University of California, Berkeley, she returned to the Hartford area and has established herself as a freelancer. She most recently served as organist at Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Hartford (2022-2024) and is a staff pianist at the Hartt School of Music (2023-present) where she works primarily with cello and double bass students.
Anna serves on the board of the Albert Schweitzer Organ Festival (ASOF).
